Tell Your Story with<\/b>\u00a0the International Year of Global Understanding<\/b><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Under the auspices of the IGU\u2019s International Year of Global Understanding, the European Association of Geographers (EUROGEO) and the IGU Commission for Geography Education (IGU-CGE) organized a Story Map competition \u201cTell Your Story<\/a>\u201d\u00a0<\/b>with the support of ESRI Inc.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The competition was officially launched at the EUROGEO Conference in Malaga, at end of September 2016 and the deadline for submission of entries was in February\u00a02017.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
There were two age group categories, one for high school students aged 15-19 to share their perspectives on local meeting global and the other for university students who were invited to share their research.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The Story Maps should relate to the \u201cKey Messages\u201d of the International Year\u00a0and be developed under one (or more) of the six themes of the Year, namely:<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
1. Eating\/drinking\/\/surviving<\/div>
2. Moving\/staying\/\/belonging<\/div>
3. Working\/housing\/\/urbanizing<\/div>
4. Communicating\/networking\/\/interacting<\/div>
5. Wasting\/recycling\/\/preserving<\/div>
6. Sports\/entertaining\/\/recreating<\/div>
