Celebrating the Highlights of a Historic Year<\/h2>\n

The Harvest Ceremony of the International Year of Global Understanding (IYGU) took place from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on 21 November 2017 in the Friedrich Schiller University Jena’s Aula. The IYGU was proclaimed by the International Social Science Council (ISSC), the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH), and was based on a UNESCO resolution. It was the first event to be supported jointly by the three major international science councils. This half-day ceremony wrapped up the year’s events in a showcase of its highlights.<\/p>\n
