On November 30, 2016 Benno Werlen gave an interview to the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) in Kyoto. The RIHN hosts Future Earth’s Asia Regional Action Centre and the interview has been published in the March 2017 issue of the RIHN newsletter (pp.10-11). Daniel Niles, who conducted the interview, is Associate Professor of Geography at the RIHN.
Benno Werlen wrote a piece titled “Global Understanding and Citizenship” for the number zero of the new journal Global Commons Review (pp.49-53) published by the Paulo Freire Institute at UCLA. The editor is Carlos Alberto Torres who is Distinguished Professor of Education and UNESCO UCLA Chair in Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education. Carlos Alberto Torres also works together with Benno Werlen and also works together with Benno Werlen in the SCOPExL project (Sustainable Development, Global Citizenship and Peace for Excellence in Leadership) that is run by UNESCO’s Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP). Carlos Alberto Torres and his editorial team are already busy working on number 1 of Global Commons Review, planned to be published on October 1st, 2017.
